Why the book is different

The PGCE Survival Guide incorporating #pgcetips is a refreshingly different type of teaching book.

In the book, you won't find countless mentions of education theorists*- just real advice, tips and guidance from real teachers, who have 'been there and done that'.

The book is different- instead of one 'expert' author, the book contains the advice, tips and knowledge of over 100 contributors, all edited and brought together by Tim Handley who is fresh out of his PGCE at the University of East Anglia.    Our contributors have contributed in numerous ways including:-
  • Over 80 contributors have contributed at least one 'tweet' of advice via the #pgcetips hashtag on twitter
  • 9 contributors have written sections for the book- passing on their knowledge  and experience.
  • 3 Contributors have kindly allowed the re-production of blog posts which give a valuable insight into life as a trainee or NQT.
All of our contributors have given their thoughts and time for free,  and they are  all real teachers who have shared their experience, knowledge and memories  in order to help trainee teachers.

The remaining content has been written by Tim Handley, immediately after he had finished his teacher training, based on his first hand experience of the crazy yet immensely enjoyable and reward world of the PGCE.

The book is also different as it has been self published- there is no publisher or agent- this means we can make the book available to buy at the lowest price possible (and of course offer the free download).  The layout has been designed and put together by Tim Handley with wonderful illustrations and cover design by Helen Morgan.  The book is very much a book written and produced by teachers for (trainee) teachers!

So why not buy and/or download a copy of the PGCE Survival Guide today- and experience a refreshingly different education book!

* Education theorists are of course important- but there are plenty of books you can buy for that!
